Coolbellup Home Extension

When Mike and Ebony learned a new baby was on the way, they figured they were going to need a bigger home. They didn’t want the hassle of moving and, besides, they loved their home, their neighbourhood and the great views they had from their hilltop location. Enter John from One Design and Construct to help Mike and Ebony plan a renovation and extension that would tick all the boxes.

The new work had to integrate seamlessly with Mike and Ebony’s 1950’s Returned Servicemen’s home in Coolbellup, with its beautiful old wooden floors above wooden post and beam foundations. Yet at the same time the renovation needed to provide the open and airy feel of a modern home. Here’s a look at the new design that updates and re-imagines a 50’s home to give Mike and Ebony all the space they need for a growing family while retaining the original character of the home they love.

The renovation provides Mike and Ebony with extended and flexible family areas in the form of a new kitchen, dining and lounge, and wow, big sliding doors that open onto a large decking area to take full advantage of those expansive views from the top of the hill. The design incorporates a new master bedroom and ensuite, which creates a peaceful private sanctuary for busy parents at the end of each day.
With all the usual hallmarks of One Design and Construct quality, the construction process was smooth and, guess what, finished right on time before the new baby arrived! Mike and Ebony couldn’t be happier.

I’m heading out soon to photograph the interior, which I can tell you now is absolutely stunning. Take a look when I add the photos here. I’ll keep you posted 🙂
