First Junior Girls FC Featured on Channel 10

History Has Been Made at Beasley Park 🎉

It’s great to see our local news stations taking an interest in Junior Girls’ Footy! And yes, as Rebecca Perry from Network 10’s News First says, history has been made at Beasley Park for the Bullcreek Leeming Junior Football Club with the first-ever Girls’ Footy Teams.

The BLJFC Girls 7/8s coach, Leeuwin Pavy, says in the past, plenty of young girls watched from the sidelines as their brothers and others played footy, and those girls thought, why not start our own team?

Assistant Coach Kasey Reid is a footballer herself and thinks it’s great that these younger girls have a proper pathway to move forward and get into women’s football in the future.

BLJFC Girls 7/8s player Olivia Pavy says it’s great hanging out with her friends on the team and that playing footy is really fun. She even loves the training sessions because Coaches Leeuwin and Kasey create a super-fun atmosphere and everyone has a great time.

And the BLJFC Girls 7/8s aren’t the only Girls’ Teams getting in the local news spotlight. The BLJFC Girls Year 9s and Year 10s also get a mention, and deservedly so.

The 2022 BLJFC Girls’ Teams are working hard, having fun, and making everybody proud. Go Girls!
