Great news! The #playinpurple weekend is back and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever before! This year, the event will take place on the weekend of the 29th & 30th of July and Bullcreek Leeming Junior Football Club (BLJFC) is getting behind the charge to help Pankind® raise awareness and vital funds for Pancreatic Cancer research.
Â
Last year, BLJFC helped raise nearly $11,000 for the cause, and this year they are aiming to surpass that amount with even more sponsors and supporters on board. One Design and Construct has already pledged their support, as have many other businesses helping join the fight against pancreatic cancer on the weekend of the 29th & 30th of July.
Â
Emma Bodin, the driving force behind last year’s successful fundraiser, is leading the charge once again, hoping to not only raise more funds but also to spread the word about pancreatic cancer to other clubs. The aim is to make a significant impact by funding much-needed research into this insidious disease, which currently has a 12.2% 5-year survival rate in Australia.
Â
The #playinpurple weekend is an excellent opportunity for football clubs and the whole community to come together and help raise awareness and much-needed funds for Pancreatic Cancer research. By supporting this cause, we can help improve outcomes for those impacted by pancreatic cancer, and ultimately work towards finding a cure.
Â
So mark your calendars for the 29th & 30th of July and join us in the fight against pancreatic cancer. Together, WE CAN make a difference and help those affected by this devastating disease.
